Norwegian Apple Cake

INGREDIENTS
 
 1 cup and 1tbs flour
 3/4 cup sugar
 1/2 tsp salt
 1 tsp baking powder
 1/2 cup butter
 1 egg (beaten) 

METHOD

1.Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. 
2.Then cut in butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
3. Add the eggs into the mixture and stir lightly (does not have to be evenly mixed)
4. Divide the mixture into 2 portions.
5. Spread the 1st portion in a baking pan (loaf-sized).
    Then take 2 green apples (peel the skin off) and grate evenly over the spread mixture.            Spread the 2nd portion on top.
6. Bake at 375F for 45-50 minutes.


 Alia's note:

 If margarine is used instead of butter, it becomes more sticky instead of crumbly.
 If using margarine, use only 1/2 cup or chill the margarine first before use.
