Norwegian Apple Cake

1 cup and 1tbs flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter
1 egg (beaten)

Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Then cut in butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.
Add the eggs into the mixture and stir lightly (does not have to be evenly mixed)
Divide the mixture into 2 portions. Spread the 1st portion in a baking pan (loaf-sized).
Then take 2 green apples (peel the skin off) and grate evenly over the spread mixture.
Spread the 2nd portion on top.
Bake at 375F for 45-50 minutes.

Alia's note: If margarine is used instead of butter, it becomes more sticky instead of crumbly. For margarine, use only 1/2 cup or chill the margarine first before use.
